Methodology for a regional social wellbeing index
A composite index the client can calculate in-house each year.
Task
To create a measurement instrument combining official statistics with subjective public assessments and suitable for inter-regional comparison.
What was done
We developed the indicator framework and derived weights through an expert survey and principal component analysis. The pilot covered four regions, and two sub-indices were rewritten after showing low reliability.
Outcome
We delivered the methodology with calculation formulas, data collection forms and a training seminar. The index is now used in the client's annual reporting.
