Development of a departmental data collection protocol
Harmonising indicator definitions across departmental reporting.
Task
Data from subordinate organisations was not comparable because identically named indicators were calculated differently.
What was done
We created a passport for each indicator: definition, calculation formula, source, frequency and responsible officer. The protocol was piloted over one quarter.
Outcome
The protocol was approved by order of the regulator. Reporting data became comparable and the time needed to prepare consolidated reports fell.
