Socio-economic monitoring
Regular tracking of indicators and interpretation of change: a comparable time series instead of a one-off snapshot.
Monitoring rests on a fixed set of indicators agreed with the client at the outset. Once approved, definitions, sources and frequency do not change between waves — this is the only way to keep the trend comparable and to rule out a rise in a figure being an artefact of a changed counting method.
We combine official statistics, administrative data held by agencies and our own field measurements. Discrepancies between sources are not smoothed over but set out in a dedicated section of the report: for a management decision it matters where the data is robust and where it calls for caution.
